The Technical CompetenceCenter at Wackersdorf in Germany is Gerresheimer's Medical Plastic Systems ”technical heart” both in terms of product and process development. Wackersdorf is the home of the corporation's technical knowledge pool. A total of 180 people are working at the TCC with its 9,000 sqm facility. At this central point, all cross-divisional functions right through to large-scale production are collated. Engineers, technicians and specialists from product development, manufacturing equipment construction, project management, quality planning, pilot plant, product launch and industrialization work hand in hand. This direct interaction generates numerous synergies and shorter critical start-up periods of production transfer, which leads to faster time-to-market. The TCC at Wackersdorf operates an ISO-class 8 (100,000) 200 sqm clean-room, a materials laboratory and an inspection room with product-specific test equipment. Our plastics analysis laboratory is available for all analysis requirements that may arise during the development stage.

The plant is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008, DIN EN ISO 13485:2003 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2004.
