“Glass manufacturer” – from the tube to the nested syringe
Abstract
The lecture gives an overview of the production of so-called ready-to-fill syringes, starting with the raw material of glass tubing. Quality aspects of the raw material which are critical for the final quality of the ready-to-fill syringe are discussed, as well as general requirements for primary packaging material. In conclusion a detailed overview is given of the individual process steps in the production of ready-to-fill syringes from glass forming through to sterilization of the nested syringes.
