Medical Plastic Systems
Mold making
Gerresheimer’s Medical Plastic Systems mold making department has a long tradition. As early as 1958, Gerresheimer Werkzeugbau Wackersdorf GmbH started manufacturing sophisticated injection molds, mainly for clean room production. Specially trained experts manufacture highly complex, sophisticated molds. The department operates with state-of-the-art spark and wire erosion technology, high-precision grinders for all processing methods and micro HSC milling machines.
The mold making department is staffed with 60 people and is affiliated to the Technical CompetenceCenter (TCC) with its team of international experts. The TCC is Gerresheimer's Medical Plastic Systems technical knowledge pool which covers the entire product development chain right through to large-scale production by means of simultaneous engineering. Gerresheimer Werkzeugbau Wackersdorf GmbH ranks among the very best mold engineering specialists in the German speaking region of Europe. Top marks at the renowned ”Excellence in Production" competition, where Gerresheimer's Medical Plastic Systems mold making department was voted number one in the category ”Integrated Mold Maker With Less than 100 Staff Members", an attest to the specialist's outstanding performance. The ratings attested to an outstanding adherence to deadlines and a high degree of customer satisfaction, which moved the jury to pass a mark of excellence in customer support

Automation engineering
We develop customized and component specific manufacturing concepts as well as highly complex lines for assembly prefabrication for a smooth
production. Be it assembly lines, rotary table units, linear systems, robots for part insertion and removal, test systems or packaging lines, you benefit from our experience right across the production chain. All Gerresheimer's Medical Plastic Systems production systems meet the requirements of GAMP (Good Automated Manufacturing Practice) and FDA 21 CFR Part 11. During the early stages of component development, the special machine engineering team works hand in hand with the product development department. The compatibility of the component design with automated large-scale production, i.e. injection molding, assembly and inspection is determined by means of feasibility studies. We develop both manufacturing concepts and systems for Gerresheimer's Medical Plastic Systems own production as well as for production equipment operated on the customer's premises.
Development, construction and manufacture of the following customized, part-specific equipment:
- Assembly lines
- Rotary table units
- Linear systems
- Robots for part insertion and removal
- Test systems (standalone or integrated into the assembly process)
- Packaging lines
