New hot foil stamping machine for prestige finishing

New hot foil stamping machine for prestige finishing

Monaco, October 19, 2011 - The Moulded Glass Division has a new decorative finishing highlight since the beginning of 2011. Now that the new hot foil stamping machine has been put into operation, it considerably extends the options available for prestige cosmetic packaging finishing. The products that are finished with the new machine, which is in operation at the Tettau production plant, can have practically any contours. Pre-printing and foil stamping are performed in a fully automated process and in one single production run.

The hot foil stamping process involves the use of a punch that seals the foil’s metal or pigment layer onto the glass with a combination of heat and pressure. The many different effects that can be achieved with hot foil stamping, from matt to gloss and strongly pigmented colors to unusual textures, give the glass flacons an exceptionally beautiful appearance. The hot foil stamping machine is currently being used to finish technically complex cosmetic jars for Avon in addition to products for other customers.
