Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Assistant Manager for our warehouse operations in Surat, India. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining high standards of productivity and safety.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising all warehouse operations
- Manage inventory levels, implement inventory control procedures, and conduct regular audits
- Oversee the receiving, storing, and shipping of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Implement and maintain safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment
- Analyze warehouse performance metrics and suggest improvements to increase efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize supply chain processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean management practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 8 above years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and inventory control software
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
