Düsseldorf, January 24, 2017. Students with a master’s degree can take advantage of a management trainee program that can be tailored to their requirements at Gerresheimer. All trainees are assigned to a core business unit and a specific Gerresheimer production facility before spending 18 months rotating through the company’s different plants and departments. The program also includes foreign placements.
“Our management trainee program systematically prepares young graduates for positions of responsibility at Gerresheimer,” said Thomas Perlitz, Global Senior Vice President Human Resources. The trainees are assigned to a specific business unit for the 18-month program. They have their main workplace at one of the Gerresheimer production facilities and spend periods of time working at different sites and in different departments. Trainees can choose to focus on the commercial, technical or sales side of the business. Once they have completed the program they are familiar with Gerresheimer’s corporate culture and organizational structures, and they have the networks they need for their future roles in the organization. The management trainee program is designed for adaptation to the trainees’ personal interests. This is because, in many cases, they don’t actually discover what genuinely interests them until they have some practical experience of working in different areas of the business. The program is organized and coordinated by headquarters in Düsseldorf and the HR teams at each of the sites.
Gerresheimer already has a number of graduates on the workforce. For example, Kamila Majnusz is a former working student at the Gerresheimer headquarters in Düsseldorf who joined the company as a full-time employee in 2014 after graduating from her MBA program. Today she manages global projects as Marketing Manager. Tobias Fasan started work at Gerresheimer Regensburg as Development Engineer in January. Last year, his new colleagues were his mentors when he was writing his master’s thesis. Tim Rhoenisch is also a former working student. He joined Gerresheimer as Global Junior Management Controller straight after graduating with a master’s degree in January 2016.
