Gerresheimer is training its next generation of specialists at all production sites

Düsseldorf, September 21, 2018. Seven of the Gerresheimer Group’s German production sites and one of its Czech sites welcomed 56 new apprentices in early September. Over the next three years, they will master one of a total 16 professions.

“At Gerresheimer, we believe it’s extremely important not only to pass on theoretical knowledge but to teach practical skills too,” says Alexander Eckert, Global Senior Vice President Human Resources at Gerresheimer in Düsseldorf. “That’s why we train up our next generation of specialists in the plants themselves.”

The baton was handed over to a new intake of apprentices at Gerresheimer Regensburg on September 3, with 11 leavers and 18 current apprentices and three students on the dual program representing their courses at a traditional meet and greet event. Apprenticeships will also be available in 2019, offering an attractive opportunity as, just like the rest of the Group, the Regensburg site offers virtually all of its apprentices a job at the end of their training.

Training in Czech Republic based on German model

Practical training based on the German model has also been offered at Gerresheimer Regensburg’s Czech plant in Horšovský Týn for many past years. Five new apprentices will be starting their training there this year. 15 young people in all are currently learning to become industry mechanics for plastics, injection-moulding technology, and toolmaking.
