Gerresheimer trains its own junior employees at many production sites – and now in the USA too

Düsseldorf, October 09, 2019. At the start of August and September, Gerresheimer welcomed a total of 45 new apprentices and 11 dual students at its production sites in Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the United States. The international pharmaceutical and healthcare specialist offers a wide range of technical and commercial training pathways as well as dual degree courses.

“Practical knowledge is gained from working with experienced colleagues,” says Alexander Eckert, Global Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Gerresheimer in Düsseldorf. “Training enjoys a long tradition at Gerresheimer in Germany. This year, we are welcoming the first two apprentices at our plant in Peachtree City.”

Training in the United States

The state of Georgia is getting the ball rolling this year with a dual vocational training program for young people. The first two apprentices set about their training on August 7 and are starting with learning the trade of industrial engineering before continuing training in plastic process engineering in the second year of their apprenticeships.

Sensile Medical – training in Switzerland

In Olten, Switzerland, the first IT EFZ (Federal Vocational Diploma) apprentices, who will be focusing on system technology, embarked on their journey on August 1. IT specialists for system technology are responsible for developing and maintaining computer systems, among other things. They choose the right hardware and software and set up computer workstations, printers, and servers. With this new gateway, Sensile is currently training two apprentices: one in commerce (second apprenticeship year) and one in IT (first apprenticeship year).
