Best examination result for Gerresheimer apprentice

Thomas Salenbacher achieved the top score in the Kronach Chamber of Commerce’s industrial engineering electronics technician apprenticeship examination

Düsseldorf/Tettau, May 15, 2015. Thomas Salenbacher (23) spent three and a half years at Gerresheimer Tettau doing his industrial engineering electronics technician apprenticeship. On April 14, his hard work and diligence were rewarded with an award from the Upper Franconia Bayreuth Chamber of Industry and Commerce for achieving the top examination result in his apprenticeship occupation. Thomas Salenbacher was delighted, as was Ingbert Löffler, HR Manager at Gerresheimer and part of the team of experts who mentor and train Gerresheimer’s 28 apprentices in 11 different occupations.

“Our apprentices are our future colleagues. That’s why we’re happy to pass on our knowledge and motivate them,” said Ingbert Löffler, emphasizing that an apprentice has to work extremely hard preparing for the final examination to achieve the overall top score.

“I did do a lot of revision, but I wasn’t expecting to be the best in the examination,” commented Thomas Salenbacher, shaking his head when asked whether he had any advice for other apprentices who want to be top scorers. He did say that it’s important to keep learning throughout the apprenticeship rather than starting just before an exam. You have to train your memory so that you don’t blank out in an examination situation.

When Thomas Salenbacher isn’t with his work colleagues at Gerresheimer Tettau, doing checks and maintenance work, he enjoys sport and keeps fit by cycling.

Thomas Salenbacher likes the positive work climate at Gerresheimer Tettau, and the staff benefits such as Christmas and vacation pay. He can imagine going on to do a foreman’s diploma at Gerresheimer.

Gerresheimer manufactures glass products for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries at its 19 production plants around the world. In Germany, it offers apprenticeship programs at eight of its plants.
