Chamber of Industry & Commerce Award

Gerresheimer Regensburg apprentice receives award for best examination result in the CI&C’s Regensburg/ Kelhelm district.

Wackersdorf, April 22, 2013: Sabine Zeus, industrial business management assistant apprentice at Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH, achieved the highest grade in the CI&C examination. Gerresheimer apprentices at the Wackersdorf, Pfreimd and Regensburg sites regularly achieve outstanding examination results. The same applies to the technical apprentices, whose average final grade is 1.7 (on a scale of 1-5, 1 being the highest). Almost all apprentices are offered a permanent position at Gerresheimer after their apprenticeship.

Sabine Zeus completed her abridged 2.5 year apprenticeship in January. She was presented a certificate for achieving the best CI&C examination result at the Regensburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce on April 19. Sabine’s career is already mapped out because she’s been offered and accepted a position as Strategic Purchaser at the Wackersdorf site. When asked what she most liked about her apprenticeship, Sabine Zeus replied that it was her internship in Switzerland. “Gerresheimer believes it is very important for apprentices to gain international experience,“ commented Carmen Kullmann (Training Officer at Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH). “It helps us to prepare them for working in an international environment at an organization with global operations.“ The CI&C prize winner’s reward from her employer is also international - a seven-day internship at Gerresheimer’s Peachtree City plant in the USA.

Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH is very committed to its apprenticeship program. It attends school information events and makes presentations to schoolchildren to inform them about the applicant selection process and the available apprenticeship programs. It also gets involved in school projects that teach the children about job interviews and the job application process. Interested school leavers can find out more about Gerresheimer Regensburg’s apprenticeship programs at the Open Day in Wackersdorf (April 27, 10 am – 5 pm). The company is offering another 28 apprenticeships and sandwich degree programs in 2014.
