Düsseldorf, September 15, 2014 – Many young people in Germany have just started their apprenticeships. Gerresheimer offers apprenticeships in more than 20 recognized occupations at its plants in Bünde, Essen, Lohr, Pfreimd, Regensburg, Tettau, Wackersdorf and Wertheim. They range from Industrial Business Management Assistant to combined apprenticeships and degree courses leading to a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
So how did their first few days of working life go? Three new apprentices talk about their experiences.
Gerresheimer Regensburg
“I thought the interview was great and I already feel very comfortable and confident here.” Helena Gschrey is one of the 26 new apprentices at Gerresheimer Regensburg. She already feels motivated, integrated and welcome. Helen is doing an apprenticeship as foreign correspondent.
Gerresheimer Bünde
Hendrik Birkefeld is studying for a Bachelor of Engineering and doing an apprenticeship at Gerresheimer. “A dual degree and apprenticeship program isn’t easy, but I like the combination of theory and practical experience,“ he said, adding that he feels he’s in very good hands at Gerresheimer Bünde.
Gerresheimer Essen
“I really enjoyed my work experience placement at Gerresheimer. It soon made me realize that industrial business management is the career for me,“ said Lukas Wacker. He also mentioned that his experienced colleagues in Essen have spent a lot of time helping him during his induction period.
The company’s apprenticeship programs are designed to cover its own requirements and the apprentices are offered full-time positions when they have passed their examinations. Gerresheimer currently has around 180 apprentices at eight training establishments in Germany. Around 60 new apprentices started their programs in August and September.

Technical:
industrial engineering electronics technician, IT system integration specialist, industrial electrician, mechatronics fitter, industrial mechanic, screen printing media technologist, technical product designer, glass process engineer, plastics and rubber process engineer, toolmaker, machining mechanic.
Commercial:
European industrial business management assistant, foreign correspondent, industrial business management assistant.
Logistics:
warehouse logistics management assistant.
Combined apprenticeship and degree program leading to Bachelor of Engineering in the following subjects:
electrical engineering, plastics and rubber engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, medical technology, industrial engineering.
