Gerresheimer came first ahead of Pilsner Urquell and Skoda
Düsseldorf/Horšovský Týn/Regensburg, July 5, 2016. On June 21 Gerresheimer’s production plant in Horšovský Týn has been selected by the Pilsen District Administration as recipient of its CSR Award in the category of “Companies with more than 250 employees”.
“We’re delighted about the award. It’s a great tribute to our involvement in a wide range of CSR projects. We couldn’t have won it without the support and commitment of the entire team here at the plant,” said Helmut Schweiger, who has been General Manager of Horšovský Týn for 13 years and played a key role in setting up the plant. The company is involved in environmental protection projects and supports local community facilities, such as an organization that helps disabled people gain entry to the labor market.
Gerresheimer’s plant in the Czech Republic predominantly manufactures asthma inhalers for big pharmaceutical brand manufacturers. The 700-strong workforce is committed to maximum quality throughout the entire production process. Some 15,000 square meters of ISO class 8 and 9 cleanroom areas can also be found at the plant.
The Horšovský Týn team is very proud to have introduced a combined academic and apprenticeship program at the Gerresheimer plant and this is the first system of its kind in the Czech Republic. It allows Gerresheimer Horšovský Týn to train its next generation of plastics specialists. Just last year, Frantisek Toman was named “Technical Trainer 2015” by the Czech Ministries of Education and Industry & Trade.
Three years ago Helmut Schweiger received the “Bridge Builder / Stavitel most?" award for setting up the combined program in the Czech Republic. Gerresheimer Horšovský Týn had decided back then to collaborate with the Domažlice Vocational School in a pilot project testing out the first combined training program in the Czech Republic. It has now been training young people in the Czech Republic according to this German training model for five years.
The Gerresheimer Horšovský Týn (HT) plant has around 700 employees and is among the largest of the Gerresheimer Group’s over 40 production facilities.
