Düsseldorf, March 28, 2018. On April 26, Gerresheimer plants across Germany will open their doors to the participants of Girls' Day. For the whole day, the girls will have the opportunity to learn all about the technical career pathways they could follow at Gerresheimer once they finish school. This year, the production sites in Bünde, Essen, Lohr, Tettau and Wackersdorf are all participating.

"Many young women have a keen interest in engineering. We are delighted to have the opportunity to host Girls' Day and inspire school students to follow this career path later in life," says Thomas Perlitz, Global Senior Vice President of Human Resources. The world of work at Gerresheimer is constantly changing as production processes become more digitalized and automated, and this decrease in physically intensive work is creating opportunities for women to come to the fore and pursue careers in technical production.

Girls' Day at Gerresheimer: a fascinating insight into technical professionsGerresheimer invests heavily in training for junior employees. As well as classic training for young people who have just finished school, the company also offers a dual degree course and a
trainee program for those who have completed their Master's degree. The company places great value on technical career pathways and was recently recognized as a MINT Minded Company 2018. This certificate is awarded to companies that are deemed to be particularly attractive employers for the subject areas of mathematics, IT, the sciences and technology.

There are a number of opportunities available for young people interested in training at Gerresheimer, including short internships, training programs in a number of professions, dual degree courses and the individually tailored trainee program GxGo!. The company mainly bases the training involved on its own requirements, which is why so many people end up being taken on.

Here is an overview of what each Gerresheimer site will be organizing on Girls’ Day.
