Düsseldorf, June 23, 2020. Gerresheimer offers students with a Master's degree a trainee program as an introduction to a future career. The trainees have a fixed core assignment in a plant and work in various plants and departments over a period of 18 months. Foreign assignments are also part of the program. With five new inquisitive and motivated young trainees the second generation is in the starting blocks. In the areas of quality, design, small batch production, HR and controlling, the colleagues begin their professional careers at our sites in Regensburg, Wackersdorf, Tettau and the head office.

"With our trainee program we systematically prepare young university graduates for a career with Gerresheimer. The training is cross-divisional and therefore opens up the possibility of better exploiting our synergies in the Group," says Alexander Eckert, Global Senior Vice President Human Resources.

Well qualified and networked for future tasks

During the 18-month trainee program, trainees are assigned to a business unit on a permanent basis. They have their core assignment in one of the Gerresheimer plants and are deployed in various plants and departments. The focus can be on the commercial, technical or sales area. After successful completion of the program, the trainees are familiar with Gerresheimer's corporate culture and organizational contexts and are well networked for their future tasks in the company. The trainee program is designed in such a way that it can be tailored to the individual interests of the candidate during its term. After all, it is often only through practical experience that it becomes clear what you are really enthusiastic about. The program is coordinated and organized from the company's headquarters in Düsseldorf together with the local human resources departments of the locations. The third trainee group will start in April 2021.

In May 2017 the first Gerresheimer trainees began their training. In the meantime the 2017 generation is firmly in the saddle at Gerresheimer in the various departments such as Sales, Marketing, Production, Board and Human Resources. All eight candidates have developed into valuable and competent colleagues. Here are a few examples:
