Düsseldorf/Bünde, July 10, 2012 – What will the first day of the apprenticeship be like? Who are the people I’ll be working with? What will be expected of me? Gerresheimer Bünde organized an Induction Event on the afternoon of July 4 so that the new apprentices could find the answer to these questions and look forward to their first day at work before they embark on their careers. It gave them all the opportunity to take a “close up“ look at their company before they start their apprenticeship and to get to know their future colleagues and managers.

Olaf Grädler, HR Manager in Bünde, believes that apprenticeships are vital: “Our apprentices are our next generation of top employees and we want them to feel at home from the very first day onwards.“

Gerresheimer Bünde is currently providing training to 16 apprentices in four occupations. This year it has taken on its very first warehouse logistics management assistant apprentice. The company has also extended its apprenticeship and degree course program. Henrik Lampe is the first person to enroll on the BEng Industrial Engineering sandwich degree course.

The new apprentices will be involved in the production of glass syringes from tubular glass at their new workplaces in the Gerresheimer Bünde plant. All stages of the production process are precisely coordinated and certified.

After a guided tour and all the impressions it provided, the new apprentices all agreed: “We’re looking forward to August 1 so we can show Gerresheimer what we’ve got in us.“
