Commercial Business Development Manager – Central / Southeast Regions

Job Description

You are the Business Development Manager and “Hunter” of New Business in the assigned territory and the primary face to the customer pulling in the appropriate resources to meet sales and company objectives by promoting Gx Biological Solutions & Syringes.

Reporting to the Senior Director Sales, Gx Biological Solutions North America, the Commercial Business Development Manager will serve as the lead point of contact and strategic lead for all sales and marketing activities related to the Central / Southeast Region. The chosen candidate will expand Gerresheimer’s business opportunities, communicate our value proposition and achieve sales goals and targets by bringing high-level knowledge, insights, relationships and strategies to the position.

  • Responsible for achieving objectives, KPIs and targets at assigned key customers
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate customer strategy and activities for our related portfolio
  • Leverages expertise and knowledge of the marketplace, applicable competitors, industry and cross-functional activities/plans to anticipate and effectively manage business opportunities and risks
  • Drive excellence and attain buy-in from both internal and external customers.
  • Search for new potential products and projects, initiate cooperation with Key Accounts, and involve internal organization
  • Builds a deep understanding of the customer needs and responds in a way that creates trust, credibility, and respect
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with team and key stakeholders 
  • Navigates the external environment, identifies business opportunities, allocates resources and monitors implementation and performance
  • Promote Gerresheimer’s Gx Syringes and Solutions portfolio, new developments, performance, and competencies
  • Develop new customers in a manner that will achieve short and long-term, profitable growth for the account
  • Handle customer complaints with support of all other Pharmaceutical Packaging entities
  • Manage the fiscal year budget preparation process
  • Set up customer site visitation/audits, attend and support appropriate conferences, exhibitions and trade shows 
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in US domestic- syringe experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Engineering or Life Sciences
  • Well-organized, highly motivated and good business acumen required
  • Proven success building and managing territory and pipeline development
  • Demonstrated strong leadership/influence/critical thinking
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to present to all levels and audiences
  • Ability to effectively and accurately deliver results in a challenging and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50%; includes domestic and international travel
  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record
