Manager, Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

Job Description

The Manager Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting will function as a business partner with BU and Plant Management as well as central financial services, both in the US and the German headquarters. Responsibilities include financial & non-financial reporting, business analysis and the development of corrective actions for Primary Packaging Glass, Americas.

This role reports directly to the Vice President Finance and Controlling. The Manager Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting will proactively drive change and process improvements across all functions and levels, in particular in finance, sales, manufacturing and supply chain. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including other duties as may be assigned):

Planning / Forecasting

  • Coordinate the annual budget and strategic planning process as well as mid-month and year-end forecasting processes
  • Analyze deviations and derive measures for improvements
  • Control changes and follow up on actions
  • Calculate impact to budget changes on major KPI’s, e.g. Sales, EBITDA, Capital Expenditures, Net Working Capital and Cash Flow
  • Reconcile against planning targets and previous forecasts
  • Prepare management presentations

Reporting & Analysis

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly reporting of financial and non-financial KPI’s
  • Liaise with Plant Controlling, Accounting, Sales and Supply Chain Management
  • Prepare financial analysis on business unit and plant efficiency and key performance indicators
  • Analyze and proactively initiate corrective measures for improvements of profitability and cash flow
  • Dashboard development and implementation
  • Manage the investment request procedure and ensure economic evaluation of investment projects in line with Group policies
  • Continuous improvement: continually evaluating the processes in place and be a driver for improvements
  • Implement and develop controlling tools
  • Conduct Ad hoc analysis and be a major driver of special projects
  • Develop guidelines and train cross-functional teams for better awareness of business drivers for profitability and cash flow optimization

  • Proven ability to perform complex analysis and turn this into clear guidance
  • Strong intellectual capabilities to understand and analyze the value chain of the business

  • Business Administration degree (Bachelor or Master)
  • Min. 3 years related experience
  • IFRS knowledge is a plus

Advanced ERP (preferably SAP), Excel and PowerPoint skills necessary
