Procurement Manager

Job Description

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for aligning corporate spend with business strategy in order to drive sustainable profitable growth through the purchasing lifecycle process.  Identifies constrains to goals and collaboratively develops and supports countermeasures and activities to remove limitations and exceed targets. Formulates spend strategy, supplier rationalization, request for proposal process; and identifies current spend for renegotiation.  This role will develop and ensure the effective implementation of a corporate appropriations strategy to harness economies of scale, drive economic value, and enable the attainment of business goals.

  • Develop procurement strategies for direct and indirect materials categories to achieve the five-year Operational Plan Strategic Plan  
  • Provide subject matter expertise to all aspects of the sourcing process for tubular glass and moulded glass goods and services.
  • Lead supplier negotiations within a framework of a strategic contractual relationship, managing non-disclosure and corporate supplier agreements.
  • Manage overall supplier relationships, including performance, capability development, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, cost and quality improvements.
  • Identify cost savings through negotiations, event driven activities, and alternate sourcing to achieve assigned cost reduction goals.
  • Ensure quality assurance of components by maintaining the appropriate preferred manufacturer list with the proper industry manufacturing technology capability and business setup scale.
  • Monitor current commodity market conditions to identify potential supply challenges and develop a supply continuity plan.
  • Develop and facilitate procurement reviews with stakeholders to review supplier performance, future opportunities and/or challenges.
  • Engage Finance, Engineering, and Operations stakeholders in development and execution of cost focused purchasing plans.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in either Procurement or Business or Engineering or Information Technology preferred.
  • Notable Procurement accomplishments in either the Life Sciences or Medical Devices or Pharmaceutical or Automotive industries.
  • Substantial experience in optimum value attainment within either the Life Sciences or Medical Devices or Pharmaceutical or Automotive industries.
  • Proficiency in an Enterprise Resources Planning system (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office to analyze and present spend data, as well as lead the purchase to pay process..     
  • Detailed knowledge of market-leading purchasing management tools to improve contract performance, category management, sourcing, and supplier negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to hear the Voice of the Customer and align feedback with company initiatives and goals.
  • Displayed proficiency in navigating ambiguous environments, understand existing and new markets, and achieving customer satisfaction targets.

Additional Information

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 20% per week.
  • Ability to partner with team members in different geographies.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply the Gerresheimer Management System.
  • Capable of autonomous work in remote business environments.
