Information and advice at Gerresheimer’s Wackersdorf site

Wackersdorf, April 2019: On May 11, Gerresheimer is hosting its annual training fair at its Wackersdorf site. Between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., school students and their parents or guardians can find out about training and dual degree programs at a global pharmaceutical and healthcare specialist. Gerresheimer has an excellent reputation in this field, not only as a high-tech company, but also as an employer. The firm has been awarded the title of “Top National Employer” by Focus magazine several times.

With the tag line GRE@T – Gerresheimer REgensburg @usbildungsTag (training fair) – the company showcases its training program. Alongside a wide range of technical and commercial career paths, this also includes dual degree courses in plastics technology and medical technology. The event kicks off with introductions to companies, trainers, and products. Visitors then have the chance to find out about the vocational training pathways on offer. The presentation of the training opportunities receives strong support from current apprentices, who set up information booths for each training pathway where anyone interested can speak to them at any time during the event and find out exactly how the training is run, which opportunities it offers and what requirements applicants should meet. Of course, the training fair program also includes a tour of the toolmaking facility and the training center. As well as gaining an insight into the company’s day-to-day life, visitors can also get involved themselves under expert instruction.

Another focal point of the training fair is the company’s offers for students. Those interested in a dual degree program, planning a semester in industry, or looking to write their dissertation at the company, can find out about relevant options provided in partnership with the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH –Technical University of Applied Sciences). Eckert Schools International also attend the event as one of Gerresheimer’s training partners.

The highlight this year will be the appearance by two professional soccer players from Jahn Regensburg, who will be available between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. for autographs, selfies, and questions. They will also carry out the big prize draw, in which visitors can win prizes for leisure activities in the area such as a family ticket on Lake Steinberg for the “Erlebniskugel” (spherical observation tower), as well as Jahn jerseys, Jahn fan kits, and match tickets for a Jahn game of your choice. The top prize is most definitely a jersey signed by all Jahn players. Those missing out can buy Jahn merchandise at a merchandising booth or try out their soccer skills against a goal wall.

Gerresheimer is offering training placements and spaces on dual degree programs once again this year. The application deadline is September 30, 2019.
