"Take everything you can get and don’t lose it again."
With Gerresheimer since: 2010
I did an internship in Essen in summer 2009. When I graduated from high school in 2010 I decided to become a commercial apprentice at Gerresheimer AG because I was still fascinated by the amount of work and time that goes into the production of a bottle.
My apprenticeship involves spending time in all the company’s commercial departments where I support my colleagues in their roles. It means I’m learning new things all the time. My colleagues are great to work with and they’re all very friendly. I’ve also been made to feel very welcome at the plant and I’ve had the opportunity to visit the other plants. For example, I spent a week at our plant in Tettau. I also spent four weeks at our headquarters in Düsseldorf in the Corporate Communication & Marketing, Corporate Human Resources and Corporate Controlling Departments.
One of the best things I’ve experienced at Gerresheimer is definitely the soccer tournament in Mönchengladbach in 2011. There were 15 different teams there from sites around the world. We met up to play soccer and have fun. It was a very memorable day and exiting day spent with colleagues.
I hope I can stay on at the company when I complete my apprenticeship in January 2013. It’s my aim to continue learning new things so that I can support the company more effectively.
