“Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.“
With Gerresheimer since: 2011
I did a work experience placement at the Wackersdorf plant in summer 2011 and I was fascinated by the vast amount of work that goes into making injection molding tools. After the work placement I decided to apply for a technical apprenticeship at Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH when I graduated from high school in 2010.
Up to now I’ve been assigned to three different technical departments. I help my colleagues to perform their day to day work and I’ve already learned a lot of new skills through helping them. I really enjoyed working with people in different departments and they’ve all been really friendly to me. I’ve also had the opportunity to visit the other plants.
The annual workshops offered by Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH are a special aspect of my apprenticeship. They’re also a great opportunity for me to get to know my colleagues and myself better. The workshops help to identify our strengths and weaknesses and show us techniques to improve those weaknesses.
My first examination in spring 2013 was definitely a highlight for me at Gerresheimer. All the tool making apprentices in my year did exceptionally well in both the practical exercises and the theoretical tests. The results are due to the regular instruction that we receive at the plant, good preparation for the examination and the help of our instructor.
I hope I can stay on at the company when I complete my apprenticeship in summer 2014. I want to continue my training so that I can make a more positive contribution to the company’s success in the future.
