"Health isn’t everything, but without your health you have nothing."
With Gerresheimer since: 2012
Educational qualification: Integrative Health Promotion at the University of Coburg
When I completed my commercial apprenticeship I went back to college to get my university entrance qualification and enrolled on an Integrative Health Promotion course at the University of Coburg. I graduated in March 2012 with a Bachelor of Science.
I came to Gerresheimer Tettau by accident. Initially, I was only looking for a holiday job in production so that I could earn a bit of money. When the HR manager found out what I was studying, he offered me the opportunity to create a concept for the establishment of an occupational health management scheme for Gerresheimer Tettau. I’ve known the plant from an early age and I know that there are a lot of starting points for somebody in my profession, so I was immediately taken by the idea.
Since then, I’ve been designing an occupational health promotion scheme and making preparations for its implementation. I’m also responsible for the planning and organization of health information events on various themes such as skin protection.
My HR colleagues welcomed me as part of their team and I very much enjoy working with them. All of them are very committed to their jobs, they’re interested in my work and they’re motivated to implement my concept when I’ve gone.
My internship is only for two months. I’m planning other internships afterwards and then I’ll be spending a year in New Zealand. If Gerresheimer is still actively promoting workplace health when I return I’d love to work for the company again.
