Gerresheimer at beautyworld Middle East in Dubai: Glass flacons for Mercedes Benz, Victoria’s Secret and YSL

Düsseldorf/Dubai, May 24, 2012 – On May 29 up to 31 Gerresheimer will be presenting its most innovative designs to the world of Perfume and Cosmetics at this year’s beautyworld Middle East in Dubai (UAE) at booth S3-1026 at the International Covention and Exhibition Centre.

“Customers who are looking for new cosmetic designs and want to set trends can browse Gerresheimer’s several thousand design concepts for inspiration”, said Nicola Balena, Sales Director Moulded Glass at Gerresheimer.

There are three current examples of inspirational products.

Mercedes Benz

The first one, “Mercedes-Benz Perfume. The first fragrance for men“ is unmistakably masculine and as fresh as the wind in your hair. This first cologne from Mercedes-Benz premiered at the TWFA World Exhibition 2011 and owes its composition to the Geneva-based perfumer Olivier Cresp.

The flacon, which the manufacturer describes as ”masculine, modern and elegant”, is produced at the Gerresheimer Momignies plant in Belgium in the sizes of 40, 75 and 120 ml. The iconic Mercedes-Benz star is featured on the glass base. The flacons are made in single-gob machines in a blow and blow process. After the production process each bottle is fire polished to achieve a perfect surface finish. Finally, a two color screen print of the famous automobile Brand is applied. The logo which is additionally featured on the base further enhances the flacon’s elegance and prestige appeal.

Victoria’s Secret

The second one is for Victoria’s Secret “Very Sexy” for Her. The letters VS are engraved onto the glass adding value and prestige to the tall rectangular and heavy base bottles. The bottles are sprayed in different colors and the logo VS is hot stamped and pad printed according to the colors. The challenge was to keep consistency and perfect straight walls so the colored VS logo could be printed evenly. “Very Sexy” comes in 50, 75 and 100 ml sizes.

Yves Saint Laurent - Forever Youth Liberator anti-aging line

For YSL Gerresheimer produced three crème jars and three glass flacons for the serum, each in the sizes of 15, 30 and 50 ml. Gerresheimer’s Belgian subsidiary in Momignies was responsible for the fire polish finish that gives the six jars and flacons in the anti-aging line their very distinctive and sleek appearance.

The crème jars and flacons differ in terms of the spray technology used. A simple hatched aluminum layer under a pink layer was selected for the three crème jars while bottles feature an additional brown coating and the Yves Saint Laurent initials as a further sophisticated detail.

The initials YSL and the name of the line, Forever Youth Liberator are screen printed on the jars and flacons, with the YSL letters combined in a vertical line.

Gerresheimer will also be exhibiting products manufactured for Avon, Clarins, L’Oréal, Mäurer & Wirtz, Procter & Gamble, Parlux, Coty and Puig at beautyworld.
