Gerresheimer presents vials for aggressive active ingredients at CPhI in China

Düsseldorf/Shanghai, June 2, 2015. Gerresheimer has more than 1800 employees at seven production facilities in China and India. They manufacture products to meet the ever-growing demand for specialty glass and plastic pharmaceutical packaging in Asia. The Gerresheimer experts will be demonstrating the products to existing and potential customers, and offering them advice at CPhI in Shanghai, which will be held in the New International Expo Center  (SNIEC) between June 24. and 26. You can find Gerresheimer at stand W5E02, where the new Gx Armor vials will be generating a lot of interest. On June 24 at 1.30p p.m.  in section W2 at meeting room M9 the Gerresheimer experts will be hosting a workshop. The subject will be “Pharmaceutical Glass and Drug Safety“.

Gerresheimer presents vials for aggressive active ingredients at CPhI in China“At CPhI we will be focusing on Gerresheimer’s competence in glass and inviting our customers and anyone who is interested to our workshop on June 24,” said Jianfeng Chao, Director Operations China Tubular Glass Converting.

Carol Rea Flynn, Director of Technical Services at Gerresheimer in Vineland (USA) and tubular glass expert, will be talking about the regulation of pharmaceutical packaging and other pharmaceutical materials, as well as trends and new developments. She’ll also be explaining the composition and physical properties of pharmaceutical glass. Other topics that Carol will be covering include the phenomenon of delamination and how Gerresheimer solves this problem with its new generation of Gx ARMOR vials. Gx ARMOR stands for Gerresheimer Advanced Risk Management and Operational Response. The new Gx rmor vials are designed for parenteral drugs with aggressive active ingredients and specially equipped to prevent delamination.

In its two tubing production sites in Pisa (Italy) and Vineland (USA), Gerresheimer produces clear and amber borosilicate glass tubing of best hydrolytic quality. An innovative process control monitors the entire production flow through built-in feedback loops and dedicated in-line and in-process inspections.

The furnaces were replaced and a range of other technical innovations were implemented to bring the production plant in line with the Gerresheimer Group’s quality standards and it is now a state-of-the-art facility.

Gerresheimer is also showcasing its well-known and proven portfolio tubular and molded glass products at CPhI. It includes ampoules, cartridges and vials in diverse filling sizes and formats and is rounded off by the RTF syringes that are manufactured by Gerresheimer Bünde in Germany.
