Düsseldorf/Boleslawiec September 26, 2012 – New medications need professional packaging solutions that not only store them safely, but also enable their simple administration or injection. Gerresheimer is exhibiting at Stand 45 in Pavilion 1 at Taropak in the Polish city of Poznan from October 8-11, 2012, where it will be presenting its comprehensive product portfolio for the pharmaceutical industry, from simple pharmaceutical vials to complex drug delivery systems.
Many of the special containers and application systems are manufactured by the company’s Polish subsidiary, Gerresheimer Boleslawiec. This year, the production facility that Gerresheimer took over 15 years ago is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
Today, it is a highly specialised facility and the place where the Gerresheimer MultiShell® Vial, which won the German Packaging Award in 2011, was developed. The vials have an innovative design based on a combination of COP (Cyclic Olefin Polymer) and polyamide. The polyamide layer functions as an oxygen barrier that protects the oxidation-sensitive parenteral drug. The special multi-layer design of the MultiShell® vials with a polyamide core layer improves their safety and prevents leakages even when they are exposed to extraordinarily high mechanical loads.

The Tubular Glass Division is presenting a range of prefillable syringes, including its flagship RTF® sterile syringes. Tubular glass is the input material for a comprehensive range of high quality pharmaceutical vials, ampoules and cartridges in numerous filling sizes and design variants.
Gerresheimer Plastic Packaging specializes in plastic packaging products for the pharma industry.
