Global Production
Uniform quality standards and global production networks

Safety and reliability thanks to global production networks

We have production sites where our customers need our products. That’s why we manufacture our products around the world in 15 countries spread across three continents. This allows us to be near our customers and the market and to be familiar with international and local regulatory framework conditions. Our large number of production sites also ensures a secure and reliable supply for our customers.

Global production based on uniform standards

Global production based on uniform standards

The same principles apply to all production, procurement, and logistics processes at our plants around the world. They are laid down in our Gerresheimer Management System (GMS) and are subject to regular audits. What is more, we also employ globally standardized and comparable production technologies at all plants working in the same area, thus ensuring consistent quality requirements. This also means that production can be shifted from one site to another if necessary. All our plants are certified to ISO 9001. Products are manufactured, processed, and packaged in clean rooms at many of our production facilities. Each year, we invest hundreds of millions of euros in our production facilities, typically around eight percent of our annual revenue.

Our global network of plants is constantly being expanded. Here are some examples:

  • Our Peachtree City plant (U.S.) is being upgraded in order to produce an inhaler for the North American market.
  • With our new plastics plant in Anapolis (Brazil), Gerresheimer is boosting its presence in the South American market.
  • Production of plastic bottles under clean room conditions is under way in Berlin (Ohio/U.S.), the first plastic packaging production site in the U.S.
  • Commissioning of the tubular glass conversion plant in Kosamba (India)
  • Upgrading the Pfreimd site with more effective and energy efficient clean room technology
  • Expanding clean room production of pharmaceutical bottles and closures in Zaragoza (Spain)
  • Investing in a new plastic blow moulding machine in Vaerloese (Denmark)
  • Installing packing robots at the “cold end” of the moulded glass plant in Essen (Germany)
  • Now also extending the development center for glass products in Wackersdorf
