Manufacturing Manager

Job Description

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for assisting in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the departmental operational functions of the plant. Directly supervises Plant Engineer, Production Shift Supervisors and Technical Supervisor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 Review and approve adequate plans for the control of planned outputs, departmental budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness, customer service, and assists order entry efficiency

 Assist in developing, establishing, and providing for the maintenance of reporting systems that relate to the production function

 Manage the production functions of the Plant, and oversee the production process of raw and finished goods

 Ensure that the Plant standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all Production Department functions

 Review performance against operating plans and standards

 Provide reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans.

 Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth

 Responsible for GMS Methods and Tools initiatives 

Qualifications

 B.S. Engineering, Business and/or Operations Management

 Experience in glass manufacturing (3-5 yrs. experience preferred) or related manufacturing industry

 Experience in directing and supervising employees

 Ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth

Additional Information

REQUIREMENTS:

• Willingness to travel a minimum of 20%.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence.
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply the Gerresheimer Management System.
• Capable of autonomous work in dynamic business environments.
