Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Quality Inspector is responsible for collecting samples and inspect glass ware for compliance with internal controls and customer requirements. Additionally, the Quality Inspector must appropriately react and communicate any non-conformity, problems, or defects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Inspector is responsible for collecting samples and inspect glass ware for compliance with internal controls and customer requirements. Additionally, the Quality Inspector must appropriately react and communicate any non-conformity, problems, or defects.
- Responsible to read and check a line order and job card for product conformity to customer specifications.
- Responsible for accurately performing visual and other quality control inspections and recording results using specialized equipment and gauges: lehr checks, feeder streak and annealing checks, visual inspection of packed ware, glass wall thickness (GWT), off ware checks, seed counts, gauge set-ups, lab checks, stopper insertion tests, use of optical comparator and thermo shock testing.
- Responsible for accurately and timely challenging the inspection equipment and recording the results
- Responsible for collecting PDS/TG samples
- Responsible for taking appropriate action when non-conformities are found to isolate non-conformity and cull the non-conforming material according to established standards.
- Responsible for general housekeeping and 5S
Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

- High School Diploma or Equivalent
REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum education, experience, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job.
- Must be able to understand, read, speak and write in English.
- Must pass defect test and job related testing with a 90% or higher.
- Demonstrate ability to correctly detect and classify defects in glassware.
- Demonstrate ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
- Demonstrate ability to read and understand gauges, instruments and operate various gauges and measuring devices
- Demonstrate strong communication and organizing skills including use of computer to retrieve or record information.
- Ability to work rotating shift when needed (24-7-365)
- Ability to follow departmental and plant S.O.P.’s.
- Maintain general housekeeping and 5S.
