Anyone who regularly goes for a flu shot can be sure that they have also been pricked by the needle of a glass syringe from Gerresheimer. At the Center of Excellence in Bünde, which is located in the eastern Westphalian district of Herford, glass syringes and glass cartridges are developed and manufactured for the filling of sophisticated and sensitive medications. The glass syringes are manufactured on high-precision production lines equipped with a unique camera system.
Gerresheimer Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia
Gerresheimer Essen GmbH, located in the center of the Ruhr area and the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region, develops and produces container glass. Gerresheimer Tettau GmbH is based in Tettau in Upper Franconia in the district of Kronach- It specializes in the production of cosmetic glass and supplies numerous well-known cosmetics brands with flacons and jars in which fragrances, cosmetics and body care products are filled. Cosmetic product packaging is made from Type III glass and is available in clear glass, with feeder coloring and also with numerous decoration and finishing techniques such as printing, spraying and frosting. By using recycled glass (PCR), new high-quality and sustainable cosmetic packaging can be produced in a resource-saving way.
Gerresheimer Wackersdorf and Pfreimd, Bavaria
The training sites in Wackersdorf and Pfreimd are located north of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Regensburg in the beautiful Upper Palatinate Forest. The technical training and manual skills are first acquired in our training workshop in Wackersdorf or in corresponding basic courses - only then do they move on to practical work in the corresponding operating units. The "technical heart" of Gerresheimer Medical Systems beats in the Technical Competence Center in Wackersdorf and at the partner locations in Germany, China and the USA. Here, product ideas are taken from the initial concept to series production. At the production site in Pfreimd, these products (e.g. inhalers, insulin pens, infusion sets and prefillable syringes) are then manufactured in large quantities to improve the lives of patients worldwide. For this reason, the entire production chain is carried out with the utmost care in a clean room - from injection molding to assembly, inspection and packaging.
