Head of Design Verification Laboratory (w/m/d)

Job Description

  • You lead our Design Verification team with 6 tests engineers.
  • Your team is driving the major testing activities during the Development and Verification of the Design of our of intelligent, electromechanical medical products.
  • Your team establishes test methods, develops and realizes measurement setups, plans, protocols and executes a large variety of sophisticated tests.
  • Your team works closely with the Development Engineers who count on your professional support during feasibility testing.
  • Your team works closely with the Quality Engineers who define the Design Verification Plan that your team will make happen.
  • You are responsible for planning and coordination of the team members and of the laboratory equipment in order to deliver all Design Verification results in time.
  • You are managing the laboratory infrastructure and measurement equipment.
  • You are representing your subject area in meetings with our customers.
  • You are a member of the management team of the development department and work in a strong network with the heads of 4 other engineering teams.
  • You support your employees in all aspects of their work and ensure that the work environment (tools, training, working conditions, workload, collaboration) allows optimal and motivating work and in-time delivery of test results and protocols.
  • You are working on a limited amount of projects yourself.

Qualifications

  • University degree in engineering or equivalent with 5 years of experience in a test laboratory, ideally in the Medical Device Industry
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Ability to work in a team, under pressure and with precision
  • Proficiency in the regulated environment of Medical Technology (ISO 13485, MDR, FDA 21 CFR 820.30) is an advantage
  • Very good statistical skills or in viewing and interpreting data
  • Very good oral and written language skills in English and ideally in German
  • Experience in resource and project planning an advantage
  • Experience in electronics, software and mechanics
