Health and safety - a good place to work

As a manufacturing company, the safety and health of our employees is a top priority – every day – in every situation. We want to ensure a safe working environment from our employees return home healthy and unharmed every day. We strictly follow our fundamental principles:

  • Occupational health and safety have top priority
  • We actively develop and promote a health and safety culture
  • We oblige our managers to exercise their leadership role in promoting occupational health and safety in a permanent and visible manner
  • We do not accept violations of safety rules at any level

We want to ensure that occupational safety is a focus topic in every plant, every day, leading to a joint commitment by all. We are convinced that, in addition to good processes, occupational safety benefits greatly from a safety culture and constant awareness. With the aim of preventing every accident, we constantly work on improvement.

Our target

By 2028, we aim to reduce our accident frequency rate by 80%.

To create a systematic foundation, we intend to introduce an occupational health and safety management system at all production sites and have it certified to ISO 45001 by 2023.

Our approach

In 2020 our global Occupational Safety Council was established with representatives from each business area. The council's task is to further develop and uniformly implement occupational safety standards and processes within the company. Key safety figures are reported monthly in our global reporting system and made transparent in the whole company.

The successive introduction of ISO 45001 management systems at all sites by 2023 will help us to steadily increase occupational safety and minimize accidents.

ISO 45001 becomes global standard
The Gerresheimer Group has declared DIN EN ISO 45001 to be the mandatory global standard for all its plants.
