Trucker/Servicer (Forklift Operator)

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the, Logistics Coordinator manufacturing needs for tubing, packing materials, finished goods preparation for stock and maintains good housekeeping and related activities. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Drives forklift, pushes hand trucks, dollies, etc. to service operations and removes tubing, carton materials, finished goods, cullet/trash, pallets, etc.
  • As required, removes corrugated materials from empty multi-packs and stores for transfer to warehouse to support manufacturing.
  • Delivers adequate supplies of tubing and packing materials to work stations to maintain production via lift truck.
  • Maintains good housekeeping in the machine and packing areas, aisles and dumpster area.
  • Refers to process sheets for proper finished goods, packs and other information.
  • Staples trays
  • Empties cullet/trash into hoppers and/or dumpsters.
  • Labels and stretch wraps completed finished goods pallet and transfers to finished goods.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains production/materials records required.
  • Cooperates internally with Logistics Manager, Pack Room Coordinator, Material Handler, Machine Operators, and Selector Packers.
  • Cooperates externally with customers, vendors and other Gerresheimer facilities.
  • Demonstrates behavior that meets Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety and Good Housekeeping requirements.
  • Wears safety glasses and hearing protection that is required in the Production and Warehouse areas.  Hair/Beard nets and lab coats required in the Pack Room.
  • Detail oriented individual.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports QMS and GMS initiatives

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

•         High School Diploma or Equivalent

•         Prior experience in working in a warehouse environment

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:                                                                                                                      

•         Mobile Equipment Licenses (Forklift, Narrow Lift, Aerial Lift and Scrubber)

•         Good organizational skills

•         Must be able to understand, read, speak and write in English

Starting Wage: $18.21
