Kick-off event for 27 job starters

Regensburg, September 2011. The new intake of 27 apprentices at Gerresheimer Regensburg started out in their chosen careers with the commencement of the new training year on September 1. A kick-off event gave them their first insights into the company that is providing their training. Gerresheimer Regensburg will also be offering apprenticeships in 2012. They are an attractive opportunity for career starters because the company offers permanent positions to the majority of apprentices once they have completed their training.

27 young people began their apprenticeships at Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH on September 1. Including the ’new intake’, there are a total of 97 apprentices and sandwich-course students at Gerresheimer Regensburg GmbH. They were welcomed by Armin Henning (Production Manager Europe) and Carmen Kullmann (Training/ Posting). Lydia Armer, works council chairwoman and member of the supervisory board, and Maximilian Tenschert, sandwich-course mechatronics degree student and young employees’/apprentices’ representative, were also present. “We are very committed to vocational training,” emphasized Armin Henning in his speech. “Today’s apprentices are tomorrow’s key players. That’s why we expect a high level of learning commitment, excellent performance, motivation and dedication. In return, we offer a high quality of training and the opportunity to enroll for a sandwich degree course. Gerresheimer Regensburg is the first step in a promising career because we offer permanent positions to the majority of apprentices when they have completed their training program.”

The eight plastics and rubber process engineers, five toolmakers, one technical product designer, four industrial engineers and one IT specialist in the new apprenticeship intake received information about the company, the training programs, the works council and young employees’/ apprentices’ representative at the event. Verena Ziereis and Stefan Schumann, two young Gerresheimers who started their sandwich degree course in plastics engineering in July, talked about their initial training experiences. This was followed by a guided tour of the Pfreimd production facility. The kick-off event concluded with the traditional barbecue organized by the works council.

There will be new apprenticeships available in 2012. Gerresheimer is particularly interested to hear from young people who are interested in apprenticeships as plastics and rubber process engineers or a sandwich degree course in plastics engineering or mechatronics. The closing date for applications for the 2012 intake is October 14, 2011.
